SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with two bank robberies, one of which was carried out while the suspect was disguised as a woman.

John Eugene Walker was taken into custody by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Sandy City Police Department and the Unified Police Department.

A federal complaint alleges Walker robbed the Zions Bank on 700 E. 8955 S. in Sandy on May 22, and that he robbed the U.S. Bank on 888 E. 4500 S. in Salt Lake City on May 3. Walker was located using witness accounts, tips generated as a result of news reports and other leads, according to a press release.
