Boy Scouts to vote on proposal to allow openly gay scouts

The Boy Scouts National Council will vote on a proposal that would allow gay scouts, but not gay leaders, to become members on May 23.

Friday a coalition of groups, organized by, protested in a few places across the country to keep the ban on openly gay members in place.They say the resolution is ethically inconsistent with scouting virtues.

The “Rally for Scouting” took place in 40 locations in the U.S.
