TOOELE, Utah – Four people, two men and two women, were injured after a rollover accident that happened late Saturday or early Sunday, and the truck wasn’t found until about six hours later.

Keith Borders, Tooele County Sheriff’s Office, said three of the victims were transported by helicopter to a hospital and the fourth by ambulance.

The crash was undetected until a passerby saw the vehicle and called police at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The truck was found on Pony Express Road near Simpson Springs.

Borders said the truck had veered right, and the driver over-corrected and caused the vehicle to flip. Borders said the crash is still being investigated but alcohol may be a factor because responders found a lot of empty beer cans around the crash site.

A man and woman went out the back window of the truck, and the other man and woman were trapped inside the cab of the truck. The two people who were ejected were able to move into the bed of the truck. Borders said the victims did have cell phones but did not call for help.

The names of the victims have not been released, and their conditions are unknown.
