SANTA CLARA, Utah – Fine artists from across the country are in southern Utah this weekend, displaying their work and showing art in action.

The “New Visions” art show is in Santa Clara on Friday and Saturday. It began at the Santa Clara City Hall six years ago for the building’s grand opening, and they’ve been coming back every year since then.

The artists say southern Utah’s vibrant art community and scenic backdrop make it the perfect spot to retreat and create.

“It’s a chance for Southern Utah and our collectors to see all of this great fine art in one place. There are over 300 pieces of art, we have 27 artists here with us this time,” said Jane Bell Meyer, owner of the art gallery.

“This is a very picturesque place to paint, so there’s a lot of painters that come down here to paint,” said artist Steve McGinty.

On Saturday, the artists will show off in a quick draw where they’re given six hours to paint, then their art will be auctioned off.
