Ogden man charged with attempted homicide after shooting victim

OGDEN, Utah -- An Ogden man has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide after he fired several shots and injured one person at a party.

Police said 32-year-old Marcus Pringle was at a party at the 30-year-old victim’s home when some kind of argument began. Pringle was asked to leave the party, and he did.

Pringle returned to the party later, and an argument ensued, during which Pringle pulled out a weapon and fired several shots at the victim.Police found the victim, who had been shot in the ankle, shortly after midnight on Saturday near Jefferson Avenue and 32nd Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.Pringle has been booked into the Weber County Jail on felony charges of attempted criminal homicide and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. Police obtained a search warrant and were able to locate the handgun used in the shooting.
