Jefferson scores 40 as Jazz top Timberwolves

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz topped the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-100 in their last regular season home game this year.

Center Al Jefferson led the Jazz with 40 points and 13 rebounds. Randy Foye and Mo Williams added 16 points each.

The Jazz play the Timberwolves (29-49) again in Minneapolis on Monday then the Grizzlies (54-25) in Memphis on Wednesday.

The win puts the Jazz (42-38) half a game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the last playoff spot.

The Lakers are playing the Golden State Warriors (45-34) in the Staples Center on Friday night. They play San Antonio (58-21) on Sunday and Houston (44-35) on Wednesday, both in Los Angeles.
