DAVIS COUNTY, Utah -- The Davis High School girls 4-by-800-meter relay team has proven themselves to be the best in the country.

The team finished first in the New Balance Nationals Indoor meet, which was held in New York on Saturday.

The team—which consists of Joanna Boyd, Ellie Child, Taylor Cox and Shea Martinez—won with a time of 8 minutes and 56 seconds. This is the fastest time in the country this year, and it’s the third fastest time ever recorded for a high school girls team in this event.

Shea Martinez also finished in fourth place in the individual 800-meter race.
