WEBER COUNTY, Utah – A Weber County rancher won a legal battle after being accused of starving horses.

42-year-old Justin Barrow was accused of abusing nearly 100 horses entrusted in his family’s care.

Utah County horse breeders Trudy and Rory Childs filed the charges against Barrow.

All charges the Childs filed against Barrows were dropped without prejudice on Wednesday after he was able to provide vet reports that they were fine in his custody.

The Childs’ are now suspected of 101 counts of animal cruelty after deputies found more than 100 of their horses in poor condition and at least four dead.
