LAYTON, Utah – The Layton City Police Department has made an arrest after responding to a threat at the Layton Hills Mall on Sunday evening.

Sgt. Roderick, Layton City Police Department, said police received a threat on Sunday at arrived at the mall just before 6 p.m. He said that as a precaution they responded on the assumption the threat was credible and increased police presence at the mall.

Police say that 20-year-old William Meyer of Layton made threatening posts on his Facebook account. They say he threatened to go to the mall and stab people.

Police say Meyer then deleted his Facebook account.

Meyer wasn’t found at the mall on Sunday night and, after a day of searching, police located him Monday afternoon at a Layton home.

He’s being booked into the Davis County Jail on charges of making terroristic threats.
