Preston, Idaho, man dead after truck crashes into train

SALT LAKE CITY – A man is dead after a dump truck crashed into the side of a train near Preston, Idaho.

The crash happened at around 10 a.m. Wednesday on the west side of Highway 36 between Dayton and Preston.

Police say he collided with the train as it passed through an intersection. Officials say visibility was poor because of fog.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies say the driver of the dump truck has been identified as Lee Lewis of Preston.

No one else was injured.
