ST. GEORGE, Utah -- A St. George family was humbled Christmas Eve when they found a brand new wheelchair-accessible van wrapped in a big red bow in their driveway.

Tate Davis, now 12, was hit by a car when he was two years old. He sustained a spinal cord injury and he now uses a wheelchair to get around. The boy's growth had made it difficult for his family to lift him in and out of their old vehicle.

"I'm getting bigger, so she's not able to lift me a lot anymore," Tate said.

The Davis family does not know who gave them the van, which they can use to transport their 12-year-old son Tate more easily. The family calls the new van their "Freedom Van" because a note left on it said "It's not just a car, it's your freedom."

"It is our freedom, because now when I say 'Who wants to go to Walmart?' and everyone, if they all want to go, they just get out and go, no problem," said Stephanie Davis.

The Davis family is now adopting the "Pay it Forward" philosophy to help others in need.
