GRANITE, Utah - It's been three weeks since a Salt Lake City businessman and his girlfriend were murdered inside his Granite home; police say the two victims were shot before the suspect set fire to their home.

59-year-old Ralph Salazar and his longtime girlfriend Alice Griego were found shot to death in his Granite community home, located at 2811 E. Ksel Drive (9450 South), on Dec. 14.

The suspect or suspects then set fire to the inside of the residence, making it difficult for investigators to even make a positive identification of the victims for several days.

Detectives have looked at evidence and interviewed several people, but they still have few leads, no motive and no solid suspects.

Now Salazar's niece Lisa Deherrera is speaking out. She believes there are people out there who killed her uncle and his girlfriend and are hoping those people do the right thing and call police.

"Our family is pleading, please, if anybody knows anything at all, please contact Unified Police, any clue will help," she said.

Deherrera says her uncle didn't appear to have any enemies, certainly no one who would want to murder him and Alice.

"He was very generous, energetic. He was up for anything and yes, he was the life of the party," she said.

Anyone with information that may help is asked to contact Unified Police at 801-743-5915.
