SALT LAKE CITY – Police say a Wyoming man may have been under the influence of alcohol and marijuana when he caused a fatal crash in Tooele County.

28-year-old Jacob C. Jensen, of Boulder, Colo., has been charged with automobile homicide in the Dec. 2 crash.

Police say Jensen was driving southbound on SR-202 just before midnight when he lost control of his vehicle on a turn near SR-201. The vehicle swerved, rolled and partially ejected the passenger, 22-year-old Joshua Wallace from West Jordan.

Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene. Jensen was wearing a seat belt and only suffered minor injuries.

Jensen is charged with automobile homicide, a third degree felony, and possession of a controlled substance and failure to stay in one lane, both misdemeanors. He is in the Salt Lake County Jail on $250,000 bond.
