Seven displaced in SLC house fire

SALT LAKE CITY – Seven people were displaced after a house fire in Salt Lake City on Tuesday.

The fire occurred at 1455 North Morton Drive (1965 West) in Salt Lake City just after 6 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke through the window of the front room of the house. They were able to put the fire under control within five minutes.

The blaze was contained to the living room in the front of the house, but there is heavy smoke damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Seven people, including two children, live in the home, but no one was home at the time of the fire. The residents told firefighters that they will stay with relatives until they can return home.
