According to AAA, more people will travel over the Christmas holiday than last year and about 90 percent will be driving.

"First thing is take a deep breath. You know you are going to have a lot of company out there, so give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination," said Windy van Curen, AAA spokeswoman.

For the most part, weather throughout the nation is good for travel. Thus far, all flights at the Salt Lake City International Airport are on time and security lines are moving smoothly.

However, a storm current in the North Pacific will push over the west in the next few days and may impact travel.

The Christmas holiday is the third busiest holiday for travel, behind Thanksgiving and Memorial Day.

For those driving, there is good news at the gas pump. Prices have dropped nearly 12 cents over the last two weeks, according to the latest Lundberg Survey. The average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.26.
