WEST HAVEN, Utah - In the wake of last week's shooting at a Connecticut elementary school, Weber County Sheriff's deputies conducted a training at a local junior high school on Friday.

Officers conducted an active shooter drill at Rock Mountain Junior High, which means police acted as if there was an armed gunman in the building.

About 30 Weber County Sheriff's deputies got familiar with the school and worked on tactical training for incidents like last week's shooting that killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.

Lt. John Morrow says the drill was planned prior to last week's incident; the Sheriff's Office wants to be prepared for situations like that.
