SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Highway Patrol has terminated a trooper under investigation for false DUI citations.

The UHP is currently facing at least four lawsuits from individuals who say Trooper Lisa Steed arrested them unfairly.

Steed has been terminated, but she’s appealing her firing. Her attorney released a statement, saying:

“We respect the commissioner for the fairness he has shown us, but disagree termination is the appropriate sanction for the alleged conduct.”

Steed has 20 days to appeal her firing to the commissioner of the Dept. of Public Safety.
