The first Utah ski resort opened Tuesday.

Brighton Ski Resort opened three lifts, Snake Creek, Majestic and Explorer.

The resort received nearly four feet of snow last weekend when a winter storm moved through the Wasatch Front.

According to Brighton's snow report, the mountain has a snow pack depth of 39 inches and has received 63 inches of snow so far this year.

A Brighton representative said there are a few groomed trails as well as fresh powder in the trees. Tickets have been discounted to $49 because of the limited lifts and terrain.

Solitude, Snowbird, Brian Head and Alta are all expected to open later this week. Details on resort opening dates.
