SALT LAKE CITY – A cultural celebration will be taking place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Conference Center this weekend.

More than 900 volunteers from across the state came together to put on a cultural program about the legend of the great white God. The program features cultural dances and an adult and children’s choir.

“This has been an incredible opportunity to get in touch with so many people, so many wonderful people who just love the culture, they love to share their talents,” said Israel Gonzalez-Nieri, the event production manager

Elder L. Whitney Clayton of the Quorum of the Seventy says the program is an effort to reach out to other cultures in the LDS Church now that there are 130 Spanish-speaking meetinghouses across Utah.

The program is free to the public and will be performed on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. It will be given in Spanish but there are a limited number of headphones to hear it in English or Portuguese.
