SALT LAKE CITY — A student was hit by a SUV near East High School Tuesday.

It happened at approximately 7:20 a.m. near 800 South and Douglas Street. Police said weather may have caused the SUV to lose control.

The student was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Jasen Asay, Salt Lake City Fire Department.

Police said the wet roads and dark morning may have played a factor.
