TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – Utah Highway Patrol troopers say texting while driving was the cause of a crash in Tooele County on Saturday evening.

UHP officials say a semi was pulled off to the right of Interstate 80 near milepost 26 when a westbound passenger car hit it, causing minor injuries to the driver of the car, a 27-year-old Salt Lake County woman.

The driver of the semi truck was okay but the woman’s car was totaled. She was cited for texting while driving and failure to operate in one lane of traffic.
