TOOELE COUNTY — A man is in serious condition after driving his car the wrong way on Interstate 80 and colliding head-on with a semi Tuesday evening.
Utah Highway Patrol says the collision occurred at mile marker 88 about 12 miles west of the Tooele exit from I-80 some time around 5:10 p.m.
Troopers say the man is listed in serious condition with a broken leg. They say the victim is diabetic and believe he had a medical problem prior to the crash.
A portion of I-80 was closed for a few hours before UHP opened it back up around 8 p.m.
