SPANISH FORK, Utah – A jury found Roberto Roman not guilty of aggravated murder in the 2010 death of Millard County Sheriff’s Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox.

The jury began deliberating at around 3 p.m. on Friday and a verdict was reached late Friday night. Roman was found guilty of tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to sentenced  on Oct. 10.

Roman, 39, was charged with killing Fox during a routine traffic check in January 2010. Police say Roman had confessed to killing her after he sold drugs to Fox’s brother Ryan Greathouse, but he later testified that he had only confessed because Greathouse had threatened him and his family. Roman now claims that Greathouse pulled the trigger.
