SALT LAKE CITY – Two Salt Lake City residents were hospitalized after a tree fell on top of them during a windstorm.

The man and woman, both in their 60s, were in a parking lot next to the Liberty Wells Senior Center, located near 400 East and 700 South, when wind blew over the tree and landed on the man.

Bystanders were able to pull him out and he was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The falling tree brushed the leg of the woman and she was taken to the hospital for a check-up.

The tree also hit a car and pulled down power lines.
