SALT LAKE CITY - Hundreds of Utahns, including some faces from FOX 13, raced for a good cause at Sugarhouse Park on Saturday.

The Dash for Donation was created to raise awareness and money for organ and tissue donation.

This is the 60th year of the 5K race and fundraiser, and although it's grown in the last six decades, there are still hundreds of Utahns in need of an organ or tissue transplant.

"It's a fundraising event and also an awareness event to help draw attention to the fact that we've got over 500 Utahns currently waiting for organ transplants and others waiting for tissue," said Deedra Hansen Lambert, volunteer coordinator with Intermountain Donor Services.

Many of the participants in the dash were there supporting someone they know who has either received an organ or tissue donation or is still in need of a donation.
