SALT LAKE CITY -- For the second time this week, a GOP fundraiser accused of raping four women, faced a judge on Friday.

Greg Peterson, 37, was arrested July 18 on more than two dozen charges related to the alleged rape and kidnapping of four women.

He was previously in court as Peterson's defense attorneys requested a reduction in his bail. The judge refused and it is currently set at $750,000.

In court Friday, Peterson and his defense team requested a speedy trial process.

"He has a right to a speedy trial," said Thaddeus May, prosecutor. "The rules of criminal procedure mandates that it is ten days, unless good cause is shown. The judge found that there is good cause for more than ten days."

Peterson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 14 and 15 when evidence and witness testimony is expected to be presented.
