Former Timpview coach fighting to keep teaching license

PROVO, Utah – The Utah State Office of Education held a hearing on Wednesday to discuss an appeal by former Timpview High School football coach Louis Wong.

Wong was fired after an audit showed a misuse of money and other financial concerns. Wong had appealed his termination, but in an agreement with the Provo City District School Board, Wong resigned and withdrew his appeal and the school board agreed to pay out the rest of his contract and withdraw his termination. Now Wong is fighting to keep his teaching license. A hearing with the Utah State Office of Education began on Wednesday, but a decision isn’t expected until August.
