United Way honors outstanding community leaders

More than 600 guests joined the United Way of Salt Lake to honor outstanding community leaders Wednesday.

Comcast was recognized as Outstanding Corporate Partner, Paula Green Johnson was honored as Outstanding Volunteer, JP Morgan Chase was presented with the President's Award for Excellence, and Tom Love, President, Love Communications was named Compassionate Leader of the Year.

"It's you and it's me and it's all of us that have to work together. We are the ones who are the examples to our leaders. We are the ones who work collectively for partnership," Love said as he addressed the crowd.

United Way recognized hundreds of supporters and partners who collaborate with United Way of Salt Lake to advance the education, income, and health of local neighborhoods and communities.

United Way of Salt Lake focuses their efforts in neighborhoods with significant challenges and aligns programs and partners in 26 Neighborhood Centers. Centers provide programs and services to complement academic curriculum including: tutoring, adult education, job training and placement, basic healthcare, and early learning.
