The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a tagger who has vandalized property in the 9th and 9th neighborhood.

Police say the tagger has vandalized garbage cans, traffic signs, telephone poles, sidewalks and other property over the last two years.

“It’s more than an annoyance — it’s unsightly, and it detracts from the beauty of our community and our unique neighborhood” said Darryl High, co-chair of the East Liberty Park Community Organization.

High and other members of the Community Council are offering a $150 reward — an amount the Police Department will match — for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandal.

High said the tagger’s work is most visible on Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings when neighbors wheel their trash cans to the curb for weekly pickup.
“That’s when you can really see how busy he’s been and that’s when our heartburn kicks into high gear,” High said.

The Police Department asks anyone with information about this case to call (801) 799-3000 or text a confidential tip to CRIMES (274637). Please start the message with the keyword TIPSLCPD.
