PROVO – Marchers planted flags on the lawn of Provo City Hall in support of Utah’s foster families.

There are more than 2,000 foster families in the state, and each flag represents one foster child in Utah.

The event raised awareness and funds for items not covered by the DCFS.

“This money goes directly to kids in foster care to help with things that are extra,” said Jessica Hannenman, Utah Foster Care Foundation. “Bikes and helmets, formal attire and vacations with their foster families.”
