SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake neighborhoods may be seeing more bars go up after recent zoning law reforms.

There are zoning laws in Salt Lake City that allow businesses that serve alcohol to operate in more commercial areas.

The changes are part of an effort by Mayor Ralph Becker to make the city’s alcohol regulations consistent with state law.

The Salt Lake City Council will soon decide where bars will be allowed.

Some residents are concerned about bars being too close to their homes.
