PROVO — Famed author and leadership guru Stephen R. Covey is in stable condition after being knocked unconscious when he fell off his bike on Thursday.

The 79-year-old’s personal assistant says covey got going a little too fast and lost control on a hill near 2733 Foothill Drive in Provo.

Police say he was wearing a helmet that slid back before his head hit the pavement. Emergency responders say he was still unconscious when they took him to the hospital.

Covey also has cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung and as of Friday afternoon was reported being in stable condition and talking to hospital staff in the intensive care unit.
