A new compressed natural gas station has opened to the public in West Jordan.

Officials say the "clean and green stations" are cheaper and better for the environment than regular gas vehicles or larger diesel-fueled vehicles.

The new station, located at 8652 South and 4000 West in West Jordan is focused on commercial vehicles, but they hope all members of the public will start using CNG vehicles and the station.

Scott Bradley with Waste Management of Utah says that the West Jordan station is one of 28 similar stations across the country. They hope to have 50 by the end of the year.
