PRICE — Fire crews were battling a brush fire about three miles south of Price that burned across more than 50 acres Tuesday. By 6 p.m. crews had the blaze contained.
The blaze threatened least one residence on the east side of the Circle C subdivision. Fire fighters kept the fire at bay by providing a protective perimeter around the house.
During the height of the blaze, nearby homeowners were wetting down their homes and shrubs with garden hoses.
The brush fire started as a routine spring burn to clear weeds from an irrigation ditch. It got out of control and spread rapidly through the brush and trees.
