This position works closely with the General Manager, the Creative Services Director, the News Director, Operations Manager and the Sales Department to implement station projects which are both content and revenue driven.  This position reports to the Director of Sales.  The Sales Programming and Marketing Strategy Manager oversees the Sales Promotion Producer, Commercial Producer and Local Sales program-“The PLACE” staff.  The major responsibilities of this job include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with sales staff to create non-traditional revenue opportunities
  • Develop local client promotion ideas
  • Create and develop relationships with current and potential clients
  • Coach and lead staff of local shows currently on the air (The PLACE) and be ready to do same as new shows are developed
  • Work with on-air talent for client interview segments on The PLACE
  • Responsible for overall strategic direction and identity of The PLACE, in a sense the “Show Doctor”, working closely with the Executive Producer, Hosts and  Sales Management
  • Sales promotion coordinator for: on-air, web, social media, outdoor (Blip)
  • Oversee commercial/sales production
  • Coordinate prizing for contest winners including contest rules (working with legal)
  • Successful demonstration of miraculously being three places at once
  • Work cohesively with station General Manager and department heads which include: News,  Sales, Creative Services, Finance and Engineering
  • Together with Director of Sales, set agenda for weekly “green” meetings with appropriate departments
  • Attend and present at Department Head meetings when necessary for Sales driven station partnerships
  • Sales events coordinator (Fall Premiere party and other revenue generating event marketing)
  • Community events coordinator (Walks, 5Ks, Blood drives, telethons, luncheons etc.)
  • Clairvoyant


  • Team Management experience a must, sales experience a double must.
  • Strong and consistent work ethic
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with both internal station teams and clients
  • The ability to manage many and varied projects at one time
  • Flexible and creative, with the ability to handle stress and pressures of the business
  • Must have valid Utah driver’s license
