He is the New York Times and USA Today No. 1 best-selling author of 36 novels.

With his tremendous success, Richard Paul Evans started the Christmas Box House, which is a shelter for abused and neglected children. His big project now is Tribe of Kyngs—a quickly growing fraternity for men of all stripes.

In addition to all of this, he’s been in the news recently in regard to when it's acceptable to hug someone else—something he's done thousands of times at book signings.

Richard Paul Evans recently discussed those topics and more on 3 Questions with Bob Evans:

  1. How did we get to that point where a simple hug between adults becomes something questionable in society?
  2. You grew up with Tourette syndrome and ADD and suffered greatly growing up. But now here you are, a very successful author. Do you see us as people on this planet becoming more or less tolerant of our differences?
  3. Explain to us what Tribe of Kyngs is and why you felt it was necessary to organize it?
