OKLAHOMA CITY — Despite concerns Donovan Mitchell would miss Game 2 due to a foot injury, the rookie led the Utah Jazz to victory Wednesday night.

Mitchell scored 13 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Jazz to a 102-95 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday to even the first round playoff series at one win apiece.

That’s pretty remarkable, considering Mitchell was not sure earlier in the day if he would be able to play with a bruise foot.

Mitchell added six rebounds and two assists to his stat column in the 102-95 win.

Mitchell has scored 55 points in his first two NBA playoff games. That’s a new NBA record for rookie guards, passing the old mark set by Michael Jordan, who scored 53 in his first two NBA playoff games.

Derrick Favors played a big role in the Jazz win. He had 20 points and 16 rebounds, both are career playoff highs. Ricky Rubio scored 22 points, and Rudy Gobert added 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The Thunder took the lead in the third quarter with a 19-0 run, but the Jazz answered with a 14-3 run of their own.

The series now moves to Salt Lake City for game three at 8 p.m. MDT on Saturday.
