Body found in Weber River

RIVERDALE, Utah — A jogger using the Riverdale Trail discovered a body in the Weber River Tuesday morning.

According to a news release from Riverdale Police, it appears the body is that of a man who went fishing Monday night and went into the river for an unknown reason.

“It appears the male either fell or had a medical issue,” the news release said.

Police said the body was transported to the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and the body has been identified, but the man’s name won’t be released until the family is notified.

Part of the Riverdale Trail was closed Tuesday morning, but has since reopened.
