Strong winds forced travel restrictions, toppled trees, tossed trampolines and knocked out power in northern Utah Monday.

The Utah Department of Transportation prohibited high-profile vehicles I-80 eastbound and westbound from Lake Point in Tooele to Wendover at the state line (milepost 99 to milepost 1).

The city of Eagle Mountain closed Eagle Mountain Blvd for several hours after high winds created whiteout conditions.

The gusts blew down multiple trees in northern Utah including one that fell on a house in Murray. Trampolines took off in the wind, landing in yards, over fences and even on the roof of a home.

A home in West Jordan became buried by a mountain of trapped tumbleweeds. The City of West Jordan quickly jumped in to clean it up.

Rocky Mountain Power reported more than 7,500 without power at the height of the outage.

The high winds died down late Monday night, ahead of expected snow Tuesday.
