WOODS CROSS, Utah - The city is urging residents to flush their water lines after the recent waterline breaks in Woods Cross.

Officials said residents may see a colored tint to their water.

If your water doesn't clear up, you can call the city at (801) 292-4421.

At least 18 Woods Cross homeowners are cleaning up after a water main break forced sewage to back up into their homes Tuesday morning.

Woods Cross City Manager Gary Uresk said the water main break happened just after 5 a.m. but the city wasn't notified until hours later at about 8 a.m.

Homes near 2300 S. 1450 W. had the most damage.

“We just woke up, I went to take a shower and no water.  Went downstairs and the whole basement covered in mud and gook,” homeowner Craig Johnson said.

“Our crews weren’t notified until about 7 [a.m.] that there was an issue there. By that time enough water had gotten out into the street. It infiltrated into the sewer system, overloaded it,” Uresk said.

Residents with flooding concerns can call the city (801) 292-4421.
