TAYLORSVILLE – Unified Police have identified the victim of a Taylorsville homicide as Toussaint Tyler, and said he was approximately 30 years old.

Officers responded to a fatal shooting Sunday morning at an apartment complex at 742 West Sunny River Road in Taylorsville.

When they arrived at the apartment around 10 a.m., and the 30-year-old male victim was taken to a hospital. Officers say they were present when he died as a result of his injuries.

A woman who lives in the neighboring building, Ginger Beveridge, said she saw the victim being wheeled out in a stretcher, and saw paramedics "...were trying to keep him alive basically.”

In a press statement, Unified Police report a “female suspect knocked on the door while the two male suspects waited around the corner.” When the door opened, police say the men forced their way into the apartment while the female remained outside.

Detective Jared Richardson of UPD said they are searching for at least three suspects. One is a short Hispanic man around 30-years-old wearing a black top and black construction style jeans. The other is a tall black man around 40-years-old wearing a similar outfit.

Police have also released an image captured on a security camera of the female suspect in a red hoodie and light-colored pants.

"[The victim] had his own surveillance video outside of his door. That's where we got some of these descriptions from for our suspects, but we're looking for some outside from the apartment complex," Richardson said.

Later Sunday police said they are looking for a suspect vehicle described as a 1980s black Ford Mustang convertible. The car has red stripes going down the sides front to back, and the paint is flaking off with primer showing through. The car has low-profile tires that extend past the fender and have gold rims.
