LEHI, Utah — Two brothers ages 8 and 11 were transported to hospital Saturday night after they were hit by a car in an intersection in Lehi.
Cameron Boyle of Lehi City said the crash occurred around 7 p.m. in the area of 700 South and 500 West in Lehi and involved two children ages 8 and 11.
Sgt. Robert Marshall with Lehi PD said the two boys are brothers who were crossing the intersection to get to a church. The driver was traveling westbound and stopped a stop sign, and he told police he did not see the boys when he began moving again and struck the pair.
Marshall said the 8-year-old boy was taken to Primary Children’s Hospital via LifeFlight while the 11-year-old was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The exact nature of the injuries are unknown but Marshall said the injuries are not critical and not life-threatening.
Boyle said the vehicle in question was not speeding and was going about 20 mph when the crash occurred. Police don’t believe the driver did anything wrong, they say it appears he just didn’t see the children in the road.
