LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah - Search and Rescue crews reached two hikers trapped in a snowstorm on Mt. Superior in Little Cottonwood Canyon Saturday night.
It took the crews hours on foot to reach the 22-year-old man and 18-year-old woman stuck near Lake Blanche around 10:30 p.m.
The crews gave the couple food, water and dry clothes and then started the hours-long hike down.
Different teams were deployed from Little Cottonwood Canyon and Big Cottonwood Canyon to reach the hikers.
Temperatures are in the 20s and low 30s; heavy, knee-deep snow is complicated the efforts.
Authorities said the hikers are not injured.
