SALT LAKE CITY – The edible cookie dough craze has come to Salt Lake City, and dessert will never be the same again! The local based Dough Co. has one simple principle – Dessert should have NO rules. Rather than admonishing consumers for eating raw cookie dough, Dough Co. encourages it and makes it the star of every single item on its menu.
“Our edible cookie dough is an awesome dessert that takes you back to those happy memories of getting a spoonful when your mother was baking cookies at home. At Dough Co, our edible creations are sweet, 100 percent safe, and versatile,” said owner Sarah McNamara. “The dough is so delicious that we put it in anything and everything: pumped into cannoli shells, made into shakes, served in cups or bites, and even used to create larger-than-life cakes.”
Dough Co opened its first location on June 30th at 2121 S. McClelland Street in Sugarhouse, and features a full menu of original dough-centric desserts, specialty coffees, and take home and bake cookie dough options.
Cookie dough flavors include classics like chocolate chip, peanut butter, and brownie batter, but also outside-the-box flavors that Dough Co. calls its “rule-breakers.” Some of those flavors include maple bacon snickerdoodle, salted caramel pretzel, and an Oreo Thin Mint. Gluten-free options are also available, as are great tasting protein doughs for the fitness enthusiast, and even Doggie Dough for our beloved four-legged friends.
