MOUNT PLEASANT, Utah — Police in Mount Pleasant have taken a man into custody in connection with his fiance’s death after finding the deceased’s vehicle in a dry creek Saturday.

According to a press release from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, officers were called to a residence around 12:45 Friday afternoon to investigate “a suspicious death of a 34-year-old female.”

Mount Pleasant Police confirmed the deceased is Kammy Edmunds.

Police issued an attempt to locate for Edmunds’ vehicle, a white 2001 Oldsmobile Alero with Utah plate X067YP. Later Saturday officers located that vehicle east of Mount Pleasant.

The car had been driven off an embankment and into a dry creek bed. Detectives processed the vehicle and took it elsewhere to be inspected further.

Investigators have since taken 35-year-old Anthony Christensen into custody. The man is Edmunds’ fiance.

“The case will be reviewed by the Sanpete County Attorney’s Office for specific charges,” the press release from police states.

It was not clear what sorts of charges Christensen may be facing in connection with his fiance’s death. Fox 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
