SALT LAKE CITY — A North Carolina teen went missing in Salt Lake City on Saturday, and police say the girl is considered endangered due to some mental health issues.

Sgt. Brandon Shearer said 14-year-old Emily Harlan doesn’t know anyone in Salt Lake City and was last seen running from her parents around 3:30 in the afternoon near Hotel Monaco, 15 West 200 South.

Police say the teen’s family is concerned about her safety due untreated medical and mental health issues.

According to Shearer, Emily likes to frequent areas with large gatherings of people, such as a mall or park.

Emily stands 5-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has long blonde/brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a green, gray and black sweater and a diamond-patterned North Face fleece jacket.

She was also wearing blue skinny jeans and black Converse shoes. She may also be wearing an A&F black and off-white ski hat or a blue hoodie with “Washington DC” on it.

The girl was also carrying a guitar case on her back, which contains a red guitar.
