OGDEN, Utah — Two people were unharmed, but multiple cats died Sunday morning in a house fire in Ogden.

Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Eric Bauman said firefighters responded to 3230 S Orchard Ave. around 9:20 and were able to extinguish the blaze in 10 minutes. It’s unclear how many cats perished in the fire, but Bauman said there may have been as many as 18.

Damage is estimated at $20,000 and the people who occupied the home are receiving assistance from Red Cross.
