ROY, Utah — A Roy man is facing several felony charges that include rape of a child after he allegedly admitted to sexually abusing a young girl over the course of several years.

According to a statement of probable cause filed in Weber County, a young girl told her mother the suspect had sexually abused her between the ages of 7 and 10.

The victim told authorities during an investigation that the suspect, 64-year-old Donald Stephens, had touched her inappropriately in various ways over the course of the 3-year period.

Evidence collected by police included messages in which the suspect partially admitted to some of the incidents and admitted to showing the victim pornography.

Police interviewed Stephens, and post-Miranda he told authorities he rubbed and wrestled with the girl, and encouraged her to strip naked while he took photographs. He also admitted to various acts of inappropriate sexual contact, according to the PC statement.

Stephens was booked into jail December 7 and faces two counts of rape of a child, two counts of sodomy on a child, and two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child–displaying pornography, all of which are felonies.
