Utah cowboys do well at National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Several professional rodeo cowboys from Utah represented the state well at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo which ended its ten day run in Las Vegas Saturday night.

The event features the top 15 performers in 8 events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys of America.

In the saddle bronc riding event, 5 of the 15 qualifiers belong to the Wright family from the small town of Milford in Beaver County.

18-year-old NFR rookie, Ryder Wright, finished fourth in the final world standings.  His father Cody, finished in sixth place, and his older brother, Rusty took ninth.

Cody’s brothers, and Ryder’s uncles, twins Jake and Jessie Wright, finished eighth and tenth in the world, respectively.  That means five Wrights finished the rodeo season among the top ten saddle bronc riders in the world.

Bareback bronc rider, Caleb Bennett, of Tremonton, finished fourth in the final world standings.

Utah bull riders, Joe Frost of Randlett, andTim Bingham of Honeyville, finished fourth and twelfth in the world, respectively, in the bull riding event.

Holden roper, Quinn Kesler, finished in eighth place in the team roping world standings, and Tremonton’s Baylor Roche, finished fifteenth in the world in steer wrestling.
