SOUTH OGDEN, Utah –  Police have identified the victims who were killed in a shooting Friday, Dec. 9, in South Ogden.

According to Sgt. Will DeHart, those who were killed by gunfire are 24-year-old Cyle VanKomen who resided at 3636 Ogden Avenue, where the shooting took place.

Also killed was 61-year-old Kevin Nelson, who resided in a nearby home at 3630 Ogden Avenue.

Sgt. DeHart says the name of a third man, who was seriously wounded in the shooting, is being withheld for what he calls, “investigative reasons.”

DeHart will only say he is a 20 year old Hispanic man who also resided at the home where the shooting took place.

The motive for the shooting appears to be a home invasion robbery, Sgt. DeHart says.

Officers were called to the shooting just before 8 p.m. Friday night.

Sgt. DeHart says it is still an active investigation, that crime scene detectives are still processing the scene, and that detectives are following up on solid leads.

The Weber County Homicide Task Force, the Weber County Attorney’s Office, and the Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting South Ogden Police in the investigation.
